isolinux vs. grub for desktop cd?

Hi ud,

[ sorry if this is the wrong list to post this question ]

Where can I find some pointers wrt/ why isolinux is used as the 
bootloader of choice for dapper desktop cd? Although some might argue it 
gives you the right eye-candy, I believe it's substantialy less capable 
than grub.

I did try several times to boot dapper desktop cd in order to rescue 
some of my systems, but I was never able to figure out how to do these 
things with isolinux.

whereas, if I remember correctly, breezy used to have grub?

am I missing something?
