Serious bug ... xserver-xorg-core update kills X

Do you have any information that the bug is not triggered using the vesa
driver ? The specification looks good but this problem is not really
related to it.
Humans do mistakes, thats why there are QA practices and rules, due to
the massive ammount of users affected with this update and assuming
there are proper quality assurance procedures established, they were not
applied or they need to be reviewed.
Anyway I still love Ubuntu and I am sure this error will lead to quality
improvement for the future updates.
