I'm working on presenting an idea for a launchpad service to keep crash
reports separated. I'd initially intended it to be a quick and dirty
'search for similar crashes' type system, but I'm starting to have more
ideas.

The current design I've come up with is that you search for a subset of
the characteristics of any given crash, which should help developers
narrow down likely duplicates and then explicitly mark them. This gets
you a Set of reports that represent the same bug.

I'm considering if it's possible to make the system automatically
suggest duplicates. After enough explicit marking, the system could
possibly decide what characteristics ALL elements of Set A have in
common, and suggest that unmarked reports may be a member of Set A. It
would be a one-to-many relationship of course; a new bug may appear to
be a member of multiple Sets.

Perhaps it's time I stop brainstorming on my own and bring my ideas out
into the list.
