There is one big drawback at using 7.1. Up to now, the proprietary
nvidia drivers are not compatible with the revised Xorg API, so if
nvidia doesn't release a post 8762 version, I wwould think it unwise to
stay with 7.1. I know it's hard to postpone the adoption of free
software because of a proprietary driver problem, but can we really
leave the nvidia users without 3D acceleration ?
