Automatic GRUB installation only if GRUB isn't already installed

  Hallo, men

Yesterday I installed Ubuntu 6.06 desktop. Nice piece of work, I must
say. However, I have a comment to installation process.

I understand, that the goal is not to bother users with technical
questions. However, installation has overwritten my GRUB with Ubuntu's
one and it took some time to get to my other Linux installations,
because GRUB haven't recognized them either.

So, make it short, I suggest: Installation process should DETECT
previous GRUB or LILO installation in MBR. If there is any, we can
assume, that there is other Linux system installed on the disk, and the
user is probably capable enough to make decision, whether he wants to
install new GRUB anyway, or if he wishes to manage bootloader himself.

If there is standard MS MBR loader or none, GRUB can go with no questions.

	Peter
