The main point is being able to download pictures from cameras (with
libgphoto2). Only gthumb and f-spot can do this.

I'm not a power 'photo' user. I keep my photos sorted by named
directories and occasionally look at them with gthumb or eog (the
current eog is really good for browsing now, too!), thus I find f-spot
pretty confusing right now.

I understand that we have to drop gthumb sooner or later, I just point
out that this would practically force everyone to use f-spot for photo
download. From my experiments with f-spot, gthumb and f-spot are
radically different programs, so it'll take a while to get used to the
migration.
