aye. worked. thanks. I did an update/upgrade after installing breezy. the weird problem was, that for some odd reason aptitude held back several packages, including udev (I was testing the hole bug thread after I found out that I got the wrong udev version....) MAKEDEV input worked for me as well. -- blockme
