Might as well have a look at yate:

I have no idea how it compares to the alternatives, other than I had better luck 
with it than Skype after spending about 2 hours on each, and the yate developers 
are very friendly.

The yate project is more focused on the switching side of things, but they do have 
at lease 2 soft phones as part of the distrubtion.
