Serpentine problems

Serpentine has no translation enabled so that's not going to be a
problem. It introduces a new UI element but can it be changed in the
ubuntu's gladefile, otherwise the only solution will be for me to send
you guys patches for the bugs I've solved.

In my latest commit to SVN I've added support for translation in
Serpentine, the only problem is that I'm not having any luck in
testing it under breezy where all applications refuse my locale...
I'll have to try it in hoary.
