Rhythmbox plays very interrupted

Hi,
I installed breezy on two different machines and on both I get the same
problem:

Rhythmbox, the default music player, does play music interrupted all the
time, it sounds like playing quake3 with only 10 fps :-(

Hardware Information:
PC 1: Soundcard: snd_cmipci
PC 2: Soundcard: intel8x0

Both PCs are fast enough to play mp3s...
beep-media-player/xmms both work fine, using the alsa output plugin

Any suggestions?
Is it a bug in rhythmbox or is it a problem with my configuration
(gstreamer, etc)?
