I'm not sure.
1. In this case you could also say I should not have my home compiled
kernel, but use strictly the one shipped with ubuntu.

2. I would not call it trouble. The error messages gathered while Xorg
crashes on you gives you enough information to track down where the
problem flaws. You just need to follow the signs. ;)
