I packaged some .debs and tested them on my system. I would like to know
if anyone else can use these to install the drivers for these lexmark
printers. I built them from the .sh and the rpm's that were available
on lexmark's site:

http://www.missouri.edu/~mrb6d9/linux/z600cups_1.0-2_all.deb

and

http://www.missouri.edu/~mrb6d9/linux/z600llpddk_2.0-2_all.deb

Installation instructions:

open terminal and cd into the directory where they were saved

then:

$ sudo dpkg -i z600cups_1.0-2_all.deb

$ sudo dpkg -i z600llpddk_2.0-2_all.deb

$ sudo ldconfig

$ /etc/rc2.d/S19cupsys restart

$ cd /usr/lib/cups/backend

$ ./z600

You should get output verifying the printer and its location

One should be able to go to System>Administration>Printing and install
a new printer using drivers listed under Lexmark and z600 v1.0-1

If there are any difficulties, check out the cups server using a
browser by pointing to this address: http://localhost:631/

I hope this helps; please feel free to give feedback :)
