Bastian, thanks for submitting the bug report.  I've been getting some
help on the 'ruby-forge list'
(http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.apps.alexandria/787)  and
after a couple of days the consensus is that the packages are broken. 
It started as a possible problem with gettext but each fix generated
new and different errors.



Hopefully, the problem can be uncovered as Alexandria is a nifty little
application. ;-)
