Breezy Colony-4: total failure

Hi,

I've downloaded and tried the Breezy-Colony4.iso "Live" CD
on my notebook computer. This same machine runs Hoary flawlessly,
both from a live CD and from the hard disk installation thereof.

No such luck with Colony-4. Major regression here.

(1) The "framebuffer" during installation just corrupts the screen
and dies.
(2) Using "live vga=771" gets further through the install.
(3) DHCP always fails without even sending any packets.
I noticed similar behaviour when trying out a recent Breezy daily snap,
in that the initial DHCP always fails, but hitting retry during the
startup prompts always works. Unfortunately, Colony-4 has no "retry" button.
(4) The result is, no networking.
(5) X11 fails to start. With Hoary, it just plain worked, automatically,
at native 1920x1600 with no fuss. Here, it just fails in too many ways
to count, eventually giving me the tiny little window to view the error log.
(6) No local VGA Linux consoles. After X11 fails, I hoped to login to
collect info and fix the problem. No such luck: no login prompts available.
(7) Because networking was also screwed, I couldn't even ssh in remotely.

So, no more info collected.

Here's the video hardware: ATI X300 (uses x.org "radeon" driver normally):

Looking forward to the day when I can actually test some of this stuff.
