Hi everybody,

this is the seventh issue of the MOTU report - bringing you up to
scratch on all the MOTU goodness that's happening around.

We have two new MOTUs to announce:

      * Moritz Breit (mbreit) who found his way into the team very fast
and does a good work, helping out with transitions and got one
of his new packages in: gnomeradio.

      * Michiel Sikkes (Mitario) - we know him already from his rocking
work on trashapplet and the update-manager. He, as well, found
into the team very easily and does a rocking work to help us fix
Universe for the next upcoming release.

Currently we face the last weeks five weeks before the Breezy Badger
release and we need even more hands on deck. If you ever planned to get
involved in packaging and fixing stuff, here's your chance. Just join
#ubuntu-motu on irc.freenode.net and join the party. Believe me, fixing
packages always feels great. :-)

Apart from getting unbuildable packages building, checking unmet
dependencies, transitioning everything that is left, we try to include
NEW packages in Universe - the last weeks will be definitely fun.

Stefan Potyra (sistpoty) and Barry deFreese (bddebian) are doing
excellent work and we hope to see them as part of the team soon too. If
you want to get in touch with us and start making Ubuntu a better place,
start here: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU

Sebastian Dröge (slomo) says: We also got a working (even with ac3)
mplayer, finally a faad2 package which works on amd64 and a
gstreamer0.8-plugins-multiverse package, which includes aac
encoding/decoding, mp3 encoding, xvid encoding and some other nice
stuff. In case you haven't noticed it yet we have a MOTU Media team
which probably needs some more members. So if you are interested in
multimedia stuff please consider to join us :-) When you find a bug in
some multimedia package please report it in launchpad and assign it to
MOTUMedia.

For breezy+1 a rewrite of the mplayer package is planned to get rid of
all the different packages for different architectures and use CPU
autodetection.

Thanks to Andrew Mitchell (ajmitch) for helping us MOTU-wannabes with
uploads and general guidance! BarrydeFreese

Have a nice day,
Daniel (dholbach) - for the MOTU crew
