Re Kubuntu 64 5.10

Hi just installed firefox/ thunderbird, to the basic Kubuntu 64 5.10 and 
there are no email links to firefox.
Pity they are not there by default in install, and configured.
Does anyone know how  are they configured to work together.
Inconvenient to copy and paste.
Tried mozilla-browser next, but it has *no mail package* available in 
universe, so no help at all.
Any word on these problems for Kubuntu 64, is Kubuntu 32 better? :-)
