I have to disagree with you about the choice of FCITX thogh - If the 
method only supports simplified Chinese, that makes it useless for all 
other languages, including several variants of Chinese. If Ubuntu is to 
focus its efforts on one single input method, it has to be one that 
supports as many languages as is needed as well as possible.
