From my angle at the moment, it looks as though we simply won't be able
to support 12 on either desktop and server -- the uevent system is still
changing, and even servers need to be able to find network cards and
raid controllers, etc.

We could easily support hand-compiled 12 with the necessary modules
compiled in.

But if we want to support a modular kernel, it will probably need to be
14 or even 15.
