support for sane-backend genesys

Hi,

I tried to install a Medion MD6228 USB-Scanner.
There is a backend called sane-genesys, this says the sane-website:

http://www.sane-project.org/cgi-bin/driver.pl?manu=Medion&model=MD6228&bus=usb

But apparently, this backend is neither included in libsane nor
libsane-extras. Further, it is still Version 1.0.15.9 in the current
Breezy release. Newest version is 1.0.16.

Is it possible to include the genesys-backend to the
Ubuntu-SANE-packages?
