Release status: 5.10RC complete, approaching 5.10 final

With the release candidate safely on its way, we are in the final stages of
preparing Ubuntu 5.10.  At this time, only safe, well-understood bugfixes
will be applied.  Exceptions may be made for high-impact bugs only, and
requests for exceptions should be addressed to me.  The following bugs are
specifically targeted to be fixed for the final release:
