People really ought to stop crying "init-ng!" when talking about faster
boot times. init-ng is a rather immature hack.

A parallel init should be done correctly, such as Sun's SMF:

 http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/selfheal/smf-quickstart.html

A Linux SMF implementation is an awesome project for a few competent
hackers to pick up. Anyone?
