from all Distribution versioning options I like this most - Gentoo uses
it as well.

You are not bound to the months any more; if you want to wait for
something for a week and end up in may
you wan´t obscure anyone by a ubuntu 6.05.
Also I think the release month information, which is included in the
current versioning is completley useless - the seperated
integer issue is not that bad, since ati being a big graphics vendor
follows the same naming sheme.
