Problems with linux-686-smp

I've gotten the linux-686-smp, and it works just fine for me. My only
problem is that I can't have anything connected through USB while it's
booting/rebooting. If I do have it in, it will lock up at the GDM
screen, and I can't move my mouse, or type anything, but the cursor
still flashes. Then it will just stop flashing and lock up completely.
The only way to continue is if I do a hard reboot.
