Live cd crash

Hello all,
A friend of mine has an issue with the Hoary Live Cd. While booting, the
live cd hangs at the point where SCSI is initialised, 

scsi1: ata-piix

His motherboard is an Gigabyte 8I915G-MF i915G S775 FSB800 µATX
The motherboard has no SCSI chip onboard and no SCSI addon card is
installed.

Except than the standard cd/dvd, harddisk and such he has no special
hardware installed.

Just ask if you need more information.
