Breezy CD image status

Hello world,

There've been a few installer issues (notably
https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10445 and
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=308577) that made it
difficult to get the first Breezy CD images up and running, but we're
over the worst of them now. There are now images on cdimage.ubuntu.com
whose first stage basically works (on i386 at least), and I'm doing
another build to pick up fixes with respect to the set of packages that
get copied to the hard disk in preparation for the second stage.

Given this, there are still a couple of major outstanding issues before
the first Breezy test CD can happen:

  * The powerpc CD is oversized. I've been working on this today, and I
hope the build that's currently running will fix it; otherwise I'll
have to trim out some language packs or something.

  * ubuntu-desktop is uninstallable.
    http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/report.html shows what's
wrong, albeit with some noise due to the powerpc oversizing. It
looks like gnome-themes, gstreamer0.8-flac, rhythmbox, and
sound-juicer need to be made installable before an installation will
    work out of the box.

Aside from that, I think I'm ready to do a first test CD release soon,
with relatively few extra features over Hoary apart from those pulled in
by merges and what our conference schedule has allowed us time to do so
far, but at least by way of settling down after the initial merge and
toolchain changes. It may make sense to wait until after the upcoming
C++ ABI transition is complete, though.

Cheers,
