default developpement packages

Sorry, I had not subscribed before sending this, 
so this message may get duplicated!

Hello
I am trying ubuntu, I was used to Aurox based on fedora
on which I installed all the packages.
I have no hard disc space problem and I want all possible
packages, particularly for the developpement. How do I do?
I had the bad surprise that not even gcc is basically
included.
What do you advise to have a complete machine with no hard
work finding out what is missing?
I may have made some mistake somewhere.
I am not even sure I am on the right list.
