Comments about preview 1

Hello everybody!

I have tested a lot of the betas now, array 5, 6 and something in
between 6 and preview 1, this is my comments to preview 1, with the bugs
left, ie not fixed yet.

1. Mouse cursor slow turning back from clock-state
The mouse cursor turns into a clock when loading the System
administration programs, like managing users and groups. The cursor is
very slow to change back to normal state after the windows of the
administration programs has loaded.

2. Synaptic crashed
When exiting synaptic it crashed, happened only once.

3. Evolution thinks its a preview version
When starting evolution it displayed a dialog saying it was a preview
version.

4. HAL - device manager
When submitting data to the Ubuntu-project, hal just hangs.

5. Logout
System hangs during logout. Had to kill x-server with ctrl+alt+backspace

6. No choice of accesspoint
During install the installer found my network card which is a wireless
card. The problem here is that I am not allowed to choose an
accesspoint. I was connected to a wrong accesspoint and had to change
this manually from the shell with iwconfig.

7. Hang during first login
After the install I tried to login, but the login failed and gdm
hang :( I restarted the computer and was able to login.

8. Look of cursor
The cursor looks really bad compared to the cursor in warty, I guess
this has been mentioned before, but I will mention it again.

9. GDM, super large screen resolution.
X is setup to use the largest screen resolution posible for my display,
it would be nice to choose a more sensible resolution, like 1024x768, it
was set to 1280x1024. 
I know this may be difficult to do, but it would be nice to have more
inteligence here.
Also I changed the resolution in Gnome, but GDM still uses the super
large resolution :(

10. XScreensaver is old
Version 4.16, there is now a version 4.20, with much improved support
for Danish. Hope to see it in the next version of Ubuntu.

11. GDM error-message not needed
During logout I get this message:
Gnome Display Manager not running.

12. Network settings, SSID not remembered.
1. Open network settings
2. Set SSID for wireless nic
3. Close network settings
4. Open network settings, SSID back to default "ANY"

13. OO.o
a) The Danish dictionary is not installed, or do not work out of the
box.
b) Its not setup for Danish usage, currency, default language for
documents ...
c) A character display bug.
