Extremely urgent request for testing (new Nvidia binary drivers)

Hi,

the update does not seem to improve my situation at all (blank screen as 
soon as the nvidia driver should load and the system freezes):
The current packages used are the restricted modules version 2.6.10.4-1 
and nvidia-glx version 1.0.7167-0ubuntu25 (althogh the 
nvidia-kernel-common package is still at version 1.0.6629+1).

Tail for Xorg.0.log:

(II) Module freetype: vendor="X.Org Foundation & the After X-TT Project"
     compiled for 6.8.2, module version = 2.1.0
     Module class: X.Org Font Renderer
     ABI class: X.Org Font Renderer, version 0.4
(II) Loading font FreeType
(II) LoadModule: "glx"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.so

libglx.so points to libglx.so.1.0.7167

I tried to modprobe libglx but the module was not found.
Insmod libglx resulted in the following error: Invalid module format.
