powernowd and laptop mode

Support requests are more suited to the ubuntu-users list, please use
that for future questions. Also, please do not '*bump*' in the forums
associated with mailing lists - this just serves to annoy those who
don't follow the lists through the forums (most of the readership, I
should imagine).
