There was no stable debian release since about 2 1/2 years which
contained up-to-date software. Testing or even Sid is in no way suited
for real, stable, production-server, let alone the lack of
security-updates. Ubuntu, as being based on Debian Unstable w/security
and stabilisation work done, is indeed a great server-platform.

I think we all know by now that you want to have php5 in ubuntu. It
seems that it is not a high priority for hoary, but if you really want
it, why don't you do the work yourself? or help getting it done?
complaining just doesn't help. And as Oliver said, somebody already is
working on these packages - and it would be totally nonsense to release
them _before_ they are stable.
