ok!
mhm.. I had this problem too, caused due to a crashed cd-rom drive..
(installation works fine until a point where it was hanging). this
"freeze" was reproducable.

burning a new instance of the installing iso fixed the problem.

don't know if it's helpfull to you, but try it. does the problem appear
on all machines like you're one?
