Installation on a Thinkpad T40 went great, with just a few minor
issues:

* The PCMCIA D-Link DWL-G650 card was detected by the installer but
unable to get a DHCP address. After all the install was completed, the
card was left unconfigured. Configuring it via the GUI tool ended with
the same result, card comes up but is unable to associate with the AP.
It basically shows a frame error for every packet. It turns out this is
a known issue between madwifi and having restricted vs open
authentication turned on on the AP.
More details 'here'

* Enabling preview in nautilus for all audio files crashes nautilus and
causes all folders to close when hovering over an audio file hosted on a
smb share

* Hibernation works well. Suspend keys don't work but AFAIK suspend is
still intentionally not enabled. I haven't looked more into it yet.

* Totem would freeze with a black screen, unresponsive interface and
spinning DVD when trying to play a DVD. Replaced it with totem-xine and
that one plays DVD just great.

On a somewhat related note, playing avi files in totem-xine after
installing w32codecs doesn't work too well. The avi plays fine in the
totem window but the interface doesn't respond to any commands, mouse
or kbd, for eg. the Full Screen one so you're stuck with the small
window. Totem-gstreamer plays them somewhat too after installing the
gstreamer plugins but the playback is poor, choppy and and with wildly
out of sync audio to the video. Avi is on HD and DMA is on.
