Update gtkpod in universe?

I was looking for gtkpod in universe today (since I'm going to get an iPod mini
soon) and I noticed that it's at version 0.85.  Could this be synced with the
latest upstream release?  I know that iPod shuffle owners will want it (0.88 is
the first version to support it).  I know we're supposed to be in freeze, but
this
is a universe package that has a new version with a significant addition in
functionality.

What does everybody think of this? The one catch is that I can't build it
myself.
