Jack is an astonishingly powerful and flexible tool, but is probably
more suited to musicians than as a desktop audio api/daemon -
especially as it`s only really useful when partnered with the lsm
low-latency kernel patch.  (Part of the main kernel tree soon I hear?)

My comment was kinda tongue in cheek - as I`d only just figured out why
I wasn`t getting audio from vlc when I thought I had polypaudio running.
