Hi Martin,

It sounds like a font issue (the program tries to display a character
but it's not available in the font). Are you using a translated
version? I tried to find a change in the German translation but
couldn't find anything that might cause this problem.. Does the same
thing occur in the gksudo window (if you open e.g. Synaptic)?
At least it sounds like a bug, so maybe it's best to open one on
bugzilla and provide the answers there.
