SCSI cd emulation

Just one more question. 
2.6.11 does not hang at boot, but during execution.
I get a lot of "scheduling while atomic" (or something similar) errors in 
dmesg, the sistem is slooow and after some time it crashes. gam_server 
becomes crazy on 2.6.11.

Is that patch into 2.6.11 too? Does it mean that I (and poeople using the some 
HW I am using) can't get any future kernel update because of this?

I'll move the thread to ubuntu-users to ask help in debugging this.Maybe a 
kernel command line option can be used to prevent libata to detect cdroms as 
sata devices.

P.S. My mobo has an ICH5R chipset form gigabyte.
