I tested breezy up until and slightly into the xorg modularization
process, and at the latter end of the period I had some issues with
sound output using the esd sink in my multimedia settings. Sound from
all my gstreamer apps played, but became quite garbled. My system
didn't live long enough after that to submit a real bug report, but
I'll get on the breezy bus again soon and try to debug things if the
problem is still there. I'm not sure whether what you described above
would cause the kind of problem I had, but atleast I got an
"aha"-moment while reading it ;-)
