Okay.  Me again (azz)

To successfully get it running, I had to wipe the drive with the drive
wiping utility.  Otherwise, the installer could not partition
succesfully.

Next, I had to boot into recovery mode to reconfigure the x server and
set the password.

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

passwd me

(me is the default user)

And then

init 2 

to go onto wdm (which is an excellent choice, by the way!)

How long before we can see a meta package so that we can just install
that instead of the whole iso enchilada?  Many many people are really
excited about this!
