http://ltsp.sourceforge.net/documentation/ltsp-4.1/ltsp-4.1-2-en.html#AEN1059

A major issue is virtual memory: on a true thin client, you don't have
a local hard disk to swap to. The LTSP solution has been to swap over
NFS - however, I can't find 2.6 nfs-swap patches. Until we have a
network swapping solution, LTSP with 2.6 means no virtual memory.
Doesn't mean we can't play around with LTSP with 2.6, but does limit
use of old low memory hardware, and also of local-apps.

That would be great!

Also, this is starting to shift to development discussion. I think we
should take it to ubuntu-devel. Maybe a new wiki-page for ubuntu-ltsp
integration and development?

A huge task is going to be creating Debian packages for LTSP. I've
started reading about how to create .debs, but this seems like a
ridiculously complicated packaging task (to do right, anyways), and
should receive some careful thought.
