No it's not that, if I don't use the recovery mode, which turns off
quiet, it shows "Starting Ubuntu..." right before the aforentioned
error message, which if some have forgotten was...

pivot-root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 428: cannot open dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
