Great Work! On my thinkpad R40 its working good so far, I reported my
success to the wiki. Thank you very much for your work!

Up to now I used a self built kernel image added with ibm-acpi. Up to
now I could add options to the module like this: ibm-acpi
hotkey=enable,0x081c. With this linux-image, I get the following error
at boot:

ibm_acpi: acpi_evalf(DHKC, d, ...) failed: 4097
ibm_acpi: 'enable,0x081c' invalid for parameter 'hotkey'.

I checked the readme, nothing seems to have changed. I looked at the
source file ibm_acpi.c but did not find anything suspicous (but I only
had a very small look at it).

Now I have to set the parameters using a shellscript.

Btw: What is the prefered way of editing module parameters? $EDITOR
/etc/modprobe.d/${MODULE}? modconf?

Is there perhaps some strange acpi patch colliding here?

If there aren't any objections, I will file a bug to the bugzilla in a
few days.

Greetings,
        Reinhard
