Suspend and resume support has now landed in Hoary. Please see
http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/HoaryPM for instructions on how to set
it up and test it, and then add your results to
http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/HoaryPMResults . The amount of feedback
we get will determine how things are set up by default in Hoary, so
please let us know how well stuff works.
Notes:
1) This is currently for x86 only. PPC and AMD64 support is being worked
on, and should follow shortly.
2) If you're using the closed nvidia drivers or fgrlx, this probably
won't work. Either change to the free drivers or hassle nvidia and ATI
for drivers that support power management. We can't do really do
anything to fix them.
3) This code is experimental. ACPI suspend to RAM still fails on several
machines, and you won't necessarily get your display back after resume.
4) Once you've tried this, please update
