Laptop Networking, NetworkManager, ifupdown ---> Merge them?

What about Gnome-PPX for ADSL connections?
(http://gnome-ppx.berlios.de/) It has a very clean and wasy UI for
setting up pppoe/pppoa/pptp connections.
