Scary .desktop behaviour

I saved that onto my Desktop, and it worked straight away.
-rw-r--r-- 1 scott scott 164 2005-01-06 14:48 example.desktop
The icon appears, and double-clicking on it makes the calculator appear.
But it isn't executable.
