Getting back/forward mouse buttons working as default

Oh, also - what about horizontal mouse wheel scrolling (push the
mouse wheel button to the left and it scrolls left, to the right it
scrolls right etc) that some mice do - is this even possible in X?
It's a bit gimmicky and I don't use it much, but I can see where it
could be very useful (spreadsheets).
