I'd checked now the debconf template to configure xorg and the monitor
selection part is there but for some reason it's not showing on my
computer at home but it does on my computer at my university. Anyone
has any idea of why this could happen?.

Another issue is that now the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file is not changed
no matter what your selections are running "dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xorg". I also made the test of moving the file to another
location (my home directory) and the file is not recreated by debconf
for some reason and ofcourse X fails to start because of the missing
configuration file. I don't know if this behavior happens on my
university machine because I couldn't test it yet but will do next
week.

Greettings and happy new year to everyone.
Ernesto
