ruby-gnome2

Hello everyone,

if you're familiar with Ruby, I'd like to draw your attention to:
http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/2005-February/023875.html

It's all about alexandria (a GNOME ruby app to organize your bookshelf)
installs fine, but doesn't run. I think I found the problem, but need
help to resolve it.

| bengt at jolly:~/Pictures/2004/09 $ alexandria
| /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/alexandria/library.rb:23:in `require': No such file
to load -- gdk_pixbuf2 (LoadError)
| from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/alexandria/library.rb:23
| from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/alexandria.rb:54:in `require'
| from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/alexandria.rb:54
| from /usr/bin/alexandria:7:in `require'
| from /usr/bin/alexandria:7

I got the CVS version of alexandria - still the same. Now if I look
at /var/lib/dpkg/info/libgdk-pixbuf2-ruby.list, I only see docs,
examples and empty directories.

According to Lamont's build logs
(http://people.ubuntu.com/~lamont/buildLogs/r/ruby-gnome2/0.11.0-1/),
the builds were successful, but contain loads of "Error:"-messages.

Debian's unstable versions compiled fine and deploy the needed packages
(http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?searchmode=filelist&word=libgdk-pixbuf2-ruby&version=unstable&arch=i386)

I fear, we're shipping broken ruby packages, at least the gnome ones. If
someone is able to help, thanks a lot.

Have a nice day,
 Daniel
