Hi,
Install test on HP RX1600 (ia64)
--------------------------------
| Install the elilo boot loader on a hard disk
|
| Partitions currently available in your system are listed. Please choose the one
| you want elilo to use to boot Ubuntu.
| Partition for boot loader installation:
| 1. /dev/sda1 [*]
Why does it ask me? There's only one choice, and other arches don't
prompt.
| Setting up fontconfig (2.2.3-4ubuntu4) ...
| /sys/firmware/efi/systab: No such file or directory
Saw lots of that during install of packages in second stage.
| Setting up xfonts-scalable (6.8.1-1ubuntu16) ...
| Updating font configuration of fontconfig...
| Cleaning up category cid..
| Cleaning up category truetype..
| Cleaning up category type1..
| Updating category type1..
| Updating category truetype..
| Updating category cid..
| fmt: invalid width: `0'
| dpkg: error processing xfonts-scalable (--configure):
| subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
| dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of x-window-system-core:
Install of packages in second stage eventually died with that.
| You have chosen to create an RAID1 array with 2 active devices.
|
| Please choose which partitions are active devices. You must select exactly 2
| partitions.
| Active devices for the RAID1 multidisk device:
| 1. /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2
| 2. /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target1/lun0/part1
| Prompt: '?' for help, default=> ?
| KEYSTROKES:
| ? Display this help message
| < Go back to previous question
| ! Select an empty entry
| Active devices for the RAID1 multidisk device:
| 1. /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2
| 2. /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target1/lun0/part1
| Prompt: '?' for help, default=>
It's not at all obvious here how you're meant to select multiple
entries in 'readline' mode. My first guess was '1,2' but that caused
it to drop back to the first "Configure software RAID" menu. I then
tried '1 2' and that seemed to work. I think it really needs to be
explained in at least the help text that that's how you select
mutliple options?
Other than that, the install worked fine, which is a big improvement
over Tuesday ;-). This box is a headless buildd though, so I wasn't
able to test the desktop at all.
Install (i386) test on HP Proliant DL380 G4
-------------------------------------------
. Expected X resolution problem and "No sound hardware" dialog
+ Otherwise, all good.
Install (i386) test on Dell PowerEdge 2650
-------------------------------------------
= Got through the install fine and up to logging in through gdm.
However this particular box turned out to have bad memory so I
didn't get any further than that.
Live CD (amd64) test on HP Proliant DL380 G4
--------------------------------------------
. "No sound hardware" dialog
+ Otherwise, all good.
Live CD (i386) test on HP Proliant DL145
----------------------------------------
. "No sound hardware" dialog
+ Otherwise, all good.
