Macromedia flash and sound

AFAIK firefox uses libesd so if you kill esd you get no sound, but I
could be wrong.
However on hoary I had no sound, but a strace on firefox revealed  that
it seeks for libesd.so.1 at startup while there is only libesd.so.0.
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libesd.so.0 /usr/lib/libesd.so.1 solved the problem
for me.
Be sure to use alsa linked version of esd or software mixing will not
work.
