mono on amd64?

How's that supposed to help people reading this thread to find out how
to get mono on amd64 ?  the link has no pertinent information about
64-bit, nor about mono. My  suggestion is to download the source code
from 'here' (http://www.mono-project.com/downloads/) and compile mono
yourself (but I haven't tried it though). btw, does mono have a editor
for forms and widgets ?
